Frequently Asked Questions

Here to make your care straightforward

We understand that starting with a new healthcare service can bring questions. Below you will find practical information about booking, appointments, fees, prescriptions and ongoing care with T-Leaf Wellness.

Booking an appointment

How do I book an appointment?

You can book online through our secure appointment system by selecting Book Now. Choose the appointment type that best describes your circumstances and select an available practitioner and appointment time.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can book directly with T-Leaf Wellness without a referral from another healthcare practitioner. Providing relevant information from your regular GP or specialist may nevertheless help your T-Leaf practitioner understand your medical history and provide appropriately informed care.

Which appointment type should I choose?

Choose a New Patient Appointment if you have not previously consulted with a T-Leaf practitioner. Choose a Review Appointment if you are an existing T-Leaf patient returning to discuss your progress, treatment, prescriptions or another matter related to your existing care. Patients transferring from another clinic should generally book a New Patient Appointment because a T-Leaf practitioner must undertake their own clinical assessment.

How much does an appointment cost?

New Patient Appointment: $129
Introductory New Patient Offer: $99
Review Appointment: $89

Any medicine, pharmacy, pathology or other third-party costs are separate from the consultation fee.

When is payment required?

Payment is required through the booking system to confirm your appointment. Please review the payment information presented when booking and ensure your contact and payment details are correct.

Can I change or cancel my appointment?

Yes. Appointments can be changed or cancelled in accordance with T-Leaf Wellness’s Cancellation and Refund Policy. Please provide as much notice as possible. Late cancellations and missed appointments may attract a fee or require a new payment before another appointment can be booked.

Your consultation

Are appointments conducted by telehealth?

T-Leaf Wellness offers telehealth consultations, allowing eligible patients to speak with a practitioner remotely. The available consultation method may differ between practitioners and appointment types. Please check the practitioner’s profile and the information shown when booking.

How will my practitioner contact me?

Your booking confirmation will explain how the consultation will take place. Depending on the practitioner and appointment type, this may be by telephone or secure video consultation; please:

  • check that your telephone number and email address are correct

  • be available shortly before the scheduled time

  • ensure your phone accepts calls from private or unknown numbers

  • choose a quiet, private location for the consultation.

Occasionally, practitioners may run late because another patient requires additional clinical attention.

What happens if I miss the practitioner’s call?

The practitioner may attempt to contact you again, but this cannot always be guaranteed. If you miss your appointment, contact T-Leaf Wellness as soon as possible. Missed appointments are managed according to the Cancellation and Refund Policy and may require you to book and pay for another consultation.

What should I prepare for my first appointment?

Please be ready to discuss:

  • your current health concerns

  • relevant medical conditions

  • current and previous treatments

  • prescription, over-the-counter and complementary medicines

  • allergies or previous adverse reactions

  • relevant investigations or specialist care

  • your treatment goals and any concerns you would like addressed.

Having an up-to-date medication list and health summary available can make the consultation more efficient.

Do I need to provide a health summary?

A health summary is strongly encouraged, particularly if you have a complex medical history, take several medicines or are transferring from another provider. Your practitioner may request additional medical records or information if these are needed to assess your circumstances safely. Not having sufficient information available may delay clinical decisions.

What happens during the first consultation?

Your practitioner will review your health concerns, medical history, current treatments and individual circumstances. You will have an opportunity to ask questions and discuss potentially appropriate healthcare options, including their possible benefits, risks and alternatives. Any recommendations will depend on the practitioner’s clinical assessment.

Does booking guarantee that I will receive a prescription?

No. Booking and paying for a consultation does not guarantee that a medicine will be prescribed. Prescriptions are only issued when the treating practitioner determines that treatment is clinically appropriate. The practitioner may instead recommend further information, investigations, alternative management or follow-up with another healthcare provider.

Can I request a particular medicine?

You may discuss previous treatments, preferences and concerns with your practitioner. However, the decision to prescribe a particular medicine, dose or formulation rests with the treating practitioner. The practitioner is not obliged to prescribe a requested product if they consider it inappropriate, unnecessary or unsafe.

After your appointment

Will I receive a personalised care plan?

Where appropriate, your practitioner will discuss the recommended next steps with you. These may include treatment options, monitoring, investigations, lifestyle measures or follow-up. The content of your plan will depend on your assessment and individual healthcare needs.

When should I book a review?

Your practitioner will advise when a review is appropriate. The timing may depend on:

  • the treatment recommended

  • your response to treatment

  • monitoring requirements

  • side effects or concerns

  • prescription duration

  • changes in your health.

Do not wait until you have completely run out of medicine before arranging a review. Appointment availability and the need for reassessment can affect how quickly a new prescription can be issued.

What if I want my treatment or prescription changed?

Changes to prescribed treatment must be assessed by an authorised practitioner. Book a Review Appointment if you would like to discuss changing a medicine, formulation, dose or treatment plan. Administrative staff and pharmacists cannot independently alter a prescription issued by your practitioner.

What should I do if I experience side effects?

Contact your doctor or pharmacist promptly for advice about suspected side effects. If symptoms are severe, rapidly worsening or potentially life-threatening, call 000 or attend the nearest emergency department. If you believe too much medicine has been taken, contact the Poisons Information Centre on 13 11 26.

Prescriptions and pharmacies

How will I receive my prescription?

If a prescription is clinically appropriate, it may be issued electronically. An electronic prescription token can be sent to you by SMS or email or managed through another approved electronic prescription method. Check that your contact details are correct and that you have received any expected token before concluding the consultation process.

Can I choose my pharmacy?

Yes. You may generally choose which pharmacy dispenses your prescription. T-Leaf Wellness may help coordinate dispensing with a pharmacy for convenience and continuity of care, but you may request access to your electronic prescription and use another pharmacy of your choice. Availability, pricing, dispensing time and delivery services may differ between pharmacies.

Is the cost of medicine included in the consultation fee?

No. Consultation fees cover the clinical appointment only. If medicine is prescribed, its price is determined separately by the dispensing pharmacy. Costs can vary according to the medicine, formulation, quantity and pharmacy. You are encouraged to discuss financial considerations with your practitioner and ask the pharmacy about pricing before dispensing.

Can medication be delivered to me?

Some pharmacies offer delivery, subject to their location, stock, dispensing requirements and delivery policies. Delivery is a pharmacy service rather than part of the T-Leaf consultation. Please confirm availability, fees and expected delivery times directly with your chosen pharmacy.

What should I do if I lose my electronic prescription token?

If you lose the original token, contact the prescribing clinic and ask whether it can be resent. If you lose a repeat token, contact the pharmacy that dispensed your previous supply. The pharmacy can generally resend the current repeat token. For more information about electronic prescriptions, visit the T-Leaf Education Centre.

Existing and transferring patients

I have previously attended another clinic. Am I considered a new patient?

Yes. If you have not previously consulted with a T-Leaf practitioner, you should book a New Patient Appointment. Your T-Leaf practitioner must complete an independent assessment even if another clinic has previously recommended or prescribed treatment.

Do I need information from my previous clinic?

A discharge letter, health summary, medication history or other relevant records may assist your practitioner, particularly where you are transferring established care. Your new practitioner may request further information before making treatment decisions. You can ask your previous clinic how to obtain a copy of your records or have them transferred securely.

Can I obtain a copy of my T-Leaf records?

You may request access to your health information, subject to applicable privacy legislation and any lawful limitations. Requests should be made directly to T-Leaf Wellness so your identity can be verified and the information provided securely. Administrative fees may apply where permitted and will be disclosed before processing.
